People dancing at a cèilidh

We’ll be holding our yearly fundraiser and social cèilidh on Saturday the 24th January. It’s always good fun, whether you come as a guest or volunteer!

We’ll open our doors at 6.00pm, with beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks available at the bar. At 7pm, the traditional dinner of haggis (with vegan and gluten free variants offered), neeps, tatties and whisky is served.

Alongside the dinner there will be recitations and performances. Contact us if you’d like to do a turn! Anything that could be perceived as roughly Scottish (e.g. Burns poetry, or traditional songs) would be welcome.

After the supper, at around 8.30pm, Scottish country dancing will be led by the fabulous Muckers! No experience is necessary, as their caller will walk you through the steps. The dancing will continue until 11ish.

Discounted junior and unwaged tickets are available. Tickets in advance only, no sales on the door, sorry!

The event takes place on the 24th January at City Academy, Homerton Row, Hackney, E9 6EA. Secure, covered cycle parking will be available.
